Learning to play the piano is the best way to begin your musical development, because people of all ages and temperaments can achieve some degree of success on the piano.

Instruction for Children

Pre

This is a group lesson to introduce children to the study of music, familiarize them with the piano, and prepare them for private lessons. Students are not assigned practicing to do at home.

Beginner

These private lessons are designed for children in the lower grades who are just starting to learn how to play piano. The cost is $15 per lesson. Lessons for beginners last about 25 minutes and students are expected to practice an additional 80-100 minutes on their own during the week.

Intermediate

These lessons are for children who have been playing piano for a year or more. The cost is $15 per lesson. Lessons for intermediate students last for 30 minutes and students are expected to practice an additional 100-150 minutes on their own during the week.

Instruction for Teens

Late Beginner

These lessons are designed for middle school or high school students who are interested in learning to play the piano. The cost is $15 per lesson. Lessons for beginner students last about 25 minutes and students are expected to practice 100-150 minutes on their own during the week. High school students may opt to have a lesson every other week. These lessons will be an hour in length and will cost $30 per lesson.

Advanced

Lessons are available for advanced students who have been studying piano for many years. I can transition advanced students into college study or prepare students to enjoy the piano on their own as a lifetime hobby. The cost is $15 per lesson. Lessons for advanced students last for 30 minutes. High school students may opt to have a lesson every other week. These lessons will be an hour in length and will cost $30 per lesson.

Contest Preparation

Students who are preparing for contests and not taking regular lessons from me can receive coaching specific to the pieces they are preparing. Lessons can be scheduled as needed. The cost is $15 per half hour.

Instruction for Adults

Beginner

These lessons are for adults who are new to the piano. Music is selected to be more appropriate to the interests of adult students. The cost is $15 per lesson and the lesson will last about 25 minutes. Adults can schedule lessons at a frequency that works for them, but at least once a month is recommended.

Refresher

These lessons are for adult musicians who have taken piano lessons in the past and want to brush up their skills. These adults can bring their own selections of music or I will choose music of the type they prefer. The cost will be $15 for a 30 minute lesson. Adults can schedule lessons at a frequency that works for them, but at least once a month is recommended.

Additional Services

Accompaniment

Accompaniment services are available for vocal and instrumental group and individual performances. I play for college, high school, and elementary choirs, bands, and contests. I am also available to accompany students at auditions. Recordings for home practice or for auditions can also be provided.
